  • The art of making transculent beads from recycled glass
    Filling of a clay mould with glass fragments.
  • Firing

    In a traditional kiln
    30-45 minutes
    at 850-1000 celsius.
  • Moulding beads

    The craftsman uses an awl to make the centre hole while turning the bead around in the mould to shape it.
  • Polishing
    beads

    By rubbing them forcefully with water and sand on a smooth stone.
  • Translucent beads from Ghana
    The handmade process gives a unique aspect to each bead
